District 9940 Rotary Foundation Update: District Grants

In August $45,000 was paid out in District Grants to 13 clubs in our District for local and international projects. These ranged from the purchase of an automated cell counter for the Gillies McIndow Institute to a health assessment study in Ethiopia.

This month we discuss District Grants, and the criteria and process for applying for these Grants.

District Grants are funded by The Rotary Foundation with allocations from our District Designated Fund (DDF). In our District we apply for a single grant each Rotary year from Rotary International to support one or more projects using 50% of our District’s Share Allocation. This represents 25% of the Districts Foundation annual giving from three years’ prior. This equates to approximately $US30k which is then made available to clubs through District Grant applications.
